Safeguarding of your Personal Data 

How do we respect and keep your personal data safe?

We are committed to safeguarding your privacy. The Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) protects your personal data while enabling organisations to use your personal data reasonably in serving you. We will take reasonable steps to handle and to protect your personal data as required under the PDPA and other relevant legislations. In particular, we respect and keep your personal data safe by:

• limiting access of your personal data to only doctors and authorised personnel who are involved in your care, and the supporting internal processes;
• conducting regular audits to ensure only authorised persons have access to your personal data;
• removing details that identify you when using your personal data for internal purposes as far as possible; and
• securing all electronic storage and transmission of your personal data with appropriate security technologies.

By providing us with your personal data, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure (including transfer) of your personal data in accordance with this Policy. Please DO NOT provide us with any personal data if you do not accept this Policy.

Changes to Data Protection Policy

We may amend this Policy from time to time and will make available the updated Policy on our website at https://www.witzuhealth.com/ (“Website”). The updated Policy will supersede earlier versions and will apply to personal data provided to us previously. Each time you use our Website or suite of applications, and any updates, upgrades, new versions, documentation and content and services provided by or through the Website or Apps, or contact, interact or transact with us, you acknowledge and agree that the latest version of this Policy shall apply.

This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) tells you how we will collect, use, disclose or otherwise process your personal data.

1 Collection of your Information

1.1 We may collect the following types of personal data about you:

  • 1.1.1 general information about you such as your name, residential address; personal identification number (e.g. NRIC, FIN or passport number), email address, handphone number, ethnic group, gender, nationality, date of birth;

  • 1.1.2 clinical/physiological parameters, relevant clinical history and lifestyle parameters such as weight, height, body composition, relevant past and current history (e.g. family health history, previous conditions, drug allergies), blood glucose level, blood pressure readings, oxygen saturation, body temperature, food intake, activity level etc, clinical images, diagnostic reports, and other healthcare related reports where relevant;

  • 1.1.3 your physical location/address during teleconsultation;

  • 1.1.4 credit card details;

  • 1.1.5 next of kin information (e.g. emergency contact name, relation to client and contact details);

  • 1.1.6 cookies through our website or apps

1.2 We generally do not collect your personal data unless:

  • (a) it is provided to us voluntarily by you directly or via a third party who has been duly authorised by you to disclose your personal data to us, after: (i) you (or your authorised representative) have been notified of the purposes for which the data is collected; and (ii) you (or your authorised representative) have provided written consent to the collection and usage of your personal data for those purposes; or

  • (b) collection and use of your personal data without consent is permitted or required by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”) or other laws.

1.3 If you provide personal data of a third party with us (e.g. next-of-kin information), you confirm that you are duly authorised by that third party to do so for the purposes for which you have provided that personal data to us.

2 Purpose of Collection, Use and Disclosure

2.1 We collect, use, process and disclose your personal data for the following purposes:

  • 2.1.1 setting up your patient account with our healthcare provider partners in the Witz-U Care Network;

  • 2.1.2 working with your healthcare providers to provide medical and health related services to you;

  • 2.1.3 supporting the range of telehealth and telemedicine services provided by your healthcare provider/s in providing direct patient or client care to you;

  • 2.1.4 providing you with the services and functions of the Witz-U Platform;

  • 2.1.5 processing and responding to any complaints or enquiries made by you;

  • 2.1.6 complying with any law, rule, regulation, lawful and binding determination, decision or direction of a regulator, or to co-operate with any governmental authority; and

  • 2.1.7 sending patients newsletters, email reminders, text messages and other electronic means of communication.

  • 2.1.8 obtaining feedback;

  • 2.1.9 accounting, risk management and record keeping;

  • 2.1.10 informing you about service upgrades and updates;

  • 2.1.11 performing network or service enhancement;

  • 2.1.12 carrying out research, planning and statistical analysis, including satisfaction surveys to improve and personalise our services to you and develop new products and services;

  • 2.1.13 personalising our services and recommending content related to our services and your health;

2.2 We will not be sharing, selling, renting or disclosing your personal data other than as described in this Privacy Policy.

3 Disclosure of Personal Data

3.1 We may disclose your personal data to:

  • 3.1.1 law enforcement agencies or regulatory authorities where we are required to do so by law;

  • 3.1.2 relevant parties where it is necessary for legal proceedings; or

  • 3.1.3 any other organisations for any authorised purpose with your express consent.

3.2  The purposes listed in the above clauses may continue to apply even in situations where your relationship with us has been terminated or altered in any way, for a reasonable period thereafter (e.g. to allow for the transfer of your medical records to another doctor or health service provider).

4 Access and Correction

4.1 You may access or correct any personal data we hold about you at any time by contacting us at the details below. Please note that a reasonable fee may be charged for an access request. If so, we will inform you of the fee before processing your request. We do not charge for making any corrections to your personal data.

5 Withdrawing Your Consent

5.1 Please note that withdrawing consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose personal data where such collection, use and disclose without consent is permitted or required under applicable laws. For the avoidance of doubt, such withdrawal of consent shall not require us to delete any personal data that has already been collected by us from our records. Such retention shall be subject to clauses 7.2 to 7.3 below.

6 Security

6.1 We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal data is protected from misuse or loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

6.2  To safeguard your personal data, all electronic storage and transmission of personal data is secured with appropriate security technologies.

7 Retention of Personal Data

7.1 All requests for withdrawal of consent, access to, correction or deletion of Personal Data held by us shall be made in writing or via email addressed to our Data Protection Officer at: Attention: Data Protection Officer; Address: 62 Ubi Rd 1, #08-09, Singapore 408734; Email: help@witz-u.com. Such deletion shall only delete your records from the Application but a back-up copy shall be retained in accordance with clauses 7.2 and 7.3 below.

7.2 We may retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable laws.

7.3 We will cease to retain your personal data, or remove the means by which the data can be associated with you, as soon as it is reasonable to assume that such retention no longer serves the purpose for which the personal data was collected, and is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.

8. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

8.1 This Privacy Statement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, and you hereby submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Singapore.

9 Cookies

9.1 We may send “cookies”, which are unique identifiers, to your device to enable our systems to recognise your device. If you do not wish to receive cookies, you can adjust your browser setting so that your device does not accept them.
